Our Mission

Tinker & Craft provides unique maker workshops for children to explore creativity and make something fun! First, we use what we have. We seek to use recycled and excess materials through partnerships with local businesses and communities. Next, we enjoy the process of self-expression through arts and crafts. We practice curiosity and embrace imperfection. Through art, we promote mental and emotional health, and have fun too!

Jodi Hemry

Jodi has a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and has worked in the field of Graphic Design for 25 years. Over the last 10 years she’s created inspiring designs for businesses as Creative Director for her own advertising agency. While raising two boys ages 24 and 8, she experienced firsthand the draw and detriment of digital media. Jodi recognized a need to bring back a hands-on, creative experience where kids could express themselves in a community setting.

This is where Tinker & Craft was born. Somewhere between childhood memories of tinkering in the family garage, and her desire to help kids find confidence and feel satisfaction by engaging in creativity. Jodi’s vision goes beyond facilitating the making of crafts. She envisions supporting mental and emotional health, fostering connections and building community. She also sees an opportunity to inspire the use of recycled or excess materials through partnerships with the local community members and businesses.

In her spare time Jodi enjoys combing estate sales for unique art and home design materials, spending time with her family, and relaxing with her two dogs.
